This week the first graders in Mrs. Mead’s class got 20 cents to spend at the angel store. The angel store had craft materials such as gold glittery pipe cleaners, gold wrapping paper, paper doilies, construction paper, glitter, and two different lengths of gold ribbon. All of the items were priced from 1 cent to 6 cents. The students drew up a plan of what their angel would look like and how much it would cost to make it. They then carefully spent their money to create 18 unique angels. Most spent their 20 cents, and some had change left over. A few wanted to spend more but the store didn’t extend credit. It was a great time and fun to watch them plan, problem solve, and then create their angels. Look for the angels to come home today!
